Sometimes events like transitions, trauma, loss, and adjustment to divorce or limited social support trigger difficulties. As a result, conflicts, depression, anxiety, emotional outbursts, academic decline, isolation, addiction, or other risky behaviors can emerge. Tara supports clients and families as they overcome these challenges. She believes in the capacity to grow, change, and move towards self-identified goals.

Tara is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation and has been practicing since 2013. She provides therapy to preteens, teens, and young adults.

Tara has worked within different therapeutic environments over the last eleven years including the school system, individual homes, outpatient clinics, and private practice. She believes this has molded her into a well-rounded therapist with experience in serving multiple populations.

Approach to Counseling

My approach to psychotherapy is integrative and focuses on the therapy relationship, incorporating meditation/mindfulness practices, self-acceptance, development of coping skills, and repairing relationships. I draw from many approaches, including evidence-based practices such as person-centered therapy, CBT, and Child-parent psychotherapy. Over the years, I have found a therapeutic style that feels genuine and organic. Clients typically appreciate my positivity, humor, and down-to-earth style.
