Adrienne Thompson
LPC-MHSP; Licensed Professional Counselor
I believe that when a person feels safe, seen, and connected, change can occur. I specialize in working with children as young as five years old, teenagers, and parents. I have experience supporting individuals navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce and separation, and grief.
I also understand the challenges parents face and believe they deserve to feel connected, seen, and heard. I don’t believe in the concept of a “perfect parent,” but I know that we don’t always feel equipped to help when our child is struggling. When appropriate, I offer parenting-focused consultations to provide parents with the tools they need, free from judgment or shame.
With a therapy style that emphasizes relationships, I use a combination of person-centered and attachment-based approaches. I am trained in various evidence-based methods, including play-based therapy, expressive arts, sand tray therapy, and EMDR. No one should suffer alone; my goal is to create safety in the therapy space so that those I work with can find their voice and build resilience in their lives.
