Reasons to choose Brentwood Counseling Associates

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in a first session?

The first session is generally a chance for you to get to know your therapist and to determine if the two of you are a good fit. It will be a time to explore your presenting concerns, talk about goals, and get a chance for you to experience what counseling is like. At the end of the session, you can decide to schedule future sessions, request a transfer to another therapist, or decide that you are not ready for therapy at that time. Your therapist will help you think through this so that your individual goals are best met.

How much does it cost?

The therapists at Brentwood Counseling Associates are in private practice and so their fees vary from therapist to therapist. The base fees of our therapists range from $110 to $135 per session. Some allow for a sliding scale based on your financial ability and others do not. Our office manager, Jane Jenkins, will be able to assist you in determining which therapist would be the best to meet your current needs.

Can I use my insurance?

As with private pay, this differs from therapist to therapist. Some or our therapists are on many insurance panels, some are on none. We will work with you to help you understand what your mental health coverage is and to pair you with a therapist who takes your insurance if that is your need. We are also able to bill out-of-network for you, and Jane can help you to understand this process.
